Mr. A. W. Carmichael, a prominent citizen and farmer of this county died at his home in Hickory Flat last Saturday.
Mr. Carmichael at the time of his death was 66 years of age, having lived the greater portion of this time in Cherokee county. Mr. Carmichael was a progressive citizen, standing for the things that would be of benefit to his county and community. About 12 years ago he joined the Baptist church at Hickory Flat and since that time has lived the life of a true christian gentleman. He had been prominently identified with the county affairs for years and was the type of man that his opinion was often sought and it can be truly said of him that he always gave his opinion in fairness to mankind.
