DEACON AMOS CHASE:
He is my husband's 5th Great-Grandfather & was called Deacon Amos Chase. Amos was instrumental in moving the First Parish church from the old building on Old Pool Road to the Saco side. He was also instrumental in getting John Fairfield as the first Pastor in Saco (1762). He was a large land holder in the Camp Ellis Ferry Beach area. As one of his many endeavors he also ran the ferry across the river. His home has been restored & is located in Saco, Maine. Amos & his wife had 13 children. The children are listed in Sarah's memorial notes. We are looking for their son, Joseph Chase(1754-1797) & his wife, Olive (Woodman) Chase(1756-1841). It is through Joseph & Olive that our branch of the Chase lineage comes through. Find a grave volunteers have been instrumental in helping us find the resting places of long forgotten family members. Long forgotten & now remembered family members are being introduced to the next generation of our branch of Chase's.
We appreciate & thank all the F.A.G. Volunteers for helping us find those lost ones.
