Mrs. Bertha Olson, 91, died at her home Friday following several years illness.

Bertha Phillips Olson was born in Hadeland, Norway, March 27, 1875, to the parents, Lars and Olena Olson Phillips. In 1876 she came to U.S. with her parents, settling in the town of Argyle. She was baptized in Norway and confirmed in the Yellowstone Lutheran church.

Mrs. Olson attended the Everson school. In October 1896 she was united in marriage to Ole N. Olson at Darlington. They farmed in the town of Blanchard until retiring and moving to Blanchardville in 1923. Mr. Olson died Nov. 19, 1952.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church and its Ladies Aid Society.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Trinity Lutheran church with Rev. Wm White officiating. Burial was in Yellowstone cemetery. Saether funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Vick and Mrs. Cindy Larson, Blanchardville; and Mrs. Manley (Lula) Kratt, Pontiac, Mich.; three sons, Art, Madison; Lloyd, Argyle; and Vernus, Blanchardville; 17 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Irene; one son, Lyman; two grandsons, one great-granddaughter, a great-great-granddaughter and one brother and one sister.
