Gladys was the the fifth of seven children born to Elmer E. Jackson and Barbara E. Whitten-Jackson. Only herself and two sisters Barbara E. Phelps and Roseanna Myers made it to adulthood. She married George H. Yoder on March 18, 1953 and they had 1 child; Michael E. Yoder (now Peters). They divorced December 20, 1956 in the County of Jasper, IN. Her second marriage to David L. Peters produced two sons; David Leslie Peters and William Lee Peters. She also had two stillborn infants James and Neal. Her only two grandchildren are Leslie M. Peters-Jensen and Jacob R. Peters. She now has 4 great-grandchildren; Lane, Leah, Riley and Lexi.
