Mrs. Mary Hoover passed away Thursday morning Jan. 8th, 1920 at 11 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. H.B. Gratiot, Dubuque, Iowa, after several days illness.
Mrs. Hoover was born at Toronto Canada Nov. 21, 1834 and for the past eighty years has been a resident of Shullsburg.
The funeral cortege left Dubuque Friday morning arriving in Shullsburg that afternoon. The funeral took place at Miss Rickert's residence Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Carter of the Congregational church officiating.
Mrs. Hoover leaves to mourn her loss, one daughter Mrs. H.B. Gratiot of Dubuque and two nieces Miss Belle Rickert and Mrs. John P. Williams of this city.
