The following notice of the death of Edwin P. Glines is taken from The Falls City (Neb.) News: Edwin P. Glines died at Hastings, Neb., on Sunday, Sept. 13, 1908, age 35 years, 1 month and 23 days. The funeral was held in this city on Tuesday morning under the auspices of the Masonic lodge. Rev. Niede of the Episcopal church officiated. Members of the Masonic lodge attended in a body, and also members of the I.O.R.M. The Masonic service was employed at the grave.
Edward P. Glines was born in Falls City, on August 16, 1873. He attended the public schools of this city and attained an advanced grade in the high school. He was married to Miss Clara Babb of this city on July 20, 1905. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and was Past Chancellor Commander of this lodge and also of the Redmen lodge. He was Past Sachem of the Redmen order.
He was a cigar maker and a member of the Cigar Makers union. For a number of years he was a member of the Falls City band.
He leaves a wife, father, three brothers and two sisters, all of whom reside here with the exception of Jack P. Glines. The latter could not get here in time for the funeral.
The bereaved relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in this hour of affliction. Edwin Glines, with his parents visited his grandfather Isaac W. Glines, in this city, the winter of 1880, and may be remembered by some of the boys his age, as he attended the sisters school for a while. His father E.P. Glines, will be remembered as one of the boys belonging to Co. J. 3rd Wisconsin Vol. under Captain Vandergrift. He is a nephew of Mrs. John Lloyd and Mrs. Sam James and Ida Glines of Shullsburg.
