SHERIDAN RESIDENT CALLED TO HIS REWARD

Tuesday, December 20, at the University Hospital occurred the death of William Ezra Acre of Sheridan township, the end coming as a result of a clerial blood clot.

The deceased was born in Corinth, Ontario, March 18, 1860. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Sally Ann Burton, and to this union were born three children, Vern of Clare, Delmer of Frankfort, and Mrs. Gladys Gloash, of Clare.

He moved with his family to Clare county, Michigan in 1901, and made his home on a farm in Sheridan township. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and the A.O.O.G.

Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn their loss two brothers, Frank, of Clare, and Alex of Clifford, two sisters, Mrs. Almeda Crosset, of Detroit and Mrs. Alma Stannard, of Almont, Michigan and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from the Baptist Church, Saturday, Rev. Frank Bates officiating, and the interment was made in Cherry Grove Cemetery. (The Clare County Courier – Harrison, MI – 30 December 1921)

A note from contributor, Carol Keane: The obituary listed the 3 living children but they also had a son Alexander Franklin Acre Oct 14 1885 to Nov 15 1885 in Marlette, Sanilac Co and another unnamed baby between Alex and Zara no grave sites found. (Thank you, Carol for this addition as well as the addition of the pictures!)
