Chester Newton Casida 90, passed away July 16, 2010, in Canon City. Chester was born in Clayton, N.M., on Feb. 13, 1920, to Albert and Clara (Newton) Casida. On Sept. 16, 1988, he married Martha Phillips; they had 21 good years together. Chester worked at Canon Market for 34 years. He was a member of the Lincoln Park Church of the Nazarene. Chester is survived by his wife, Martha; three children, Gary Casida, Dennis (Debbie) Casida and Sherrie (Tony) Tubbs; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one step-son, George (Loretta) Phillips; three step-daughters, Lois (Larry) Walker, Patricia (Brad) Miller, and Nancy Phillips; 10 step-grandchildren; 23 step-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene; his parents; three brothers; four sisters; and daughter-in-law, Angie Casida.
Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Steve Holcomb officiating. Inturnment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City.
