"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 31, No 46, p 3, Nov. 11, 1875.

In Farina, Ill., Sept. 22d, 1875, of typhoid fever, Sarah Stillman York, wife of I. H. York, in the 61st year of her age. She was born in Almond, Allegany Co., N. Y., May 12th, 1815, and was married Sept. 22d, 1845, to the companion who now mourns her departure. They settled on the Genesee River, in the township of Willing. In April, 1870, she with her family moved to Farina. She made a profession of religion when about thirteen years old; was baptized by Eld. Richard Hull, and joined the 1st Alfred Church, where she remained a member until Feb. 11th, 1871, when her standing was removed by letter to the Farina Church. Thus one of our faithful church members, a Christian wife, mother, neighbor, and friend has fallen asleep in Jesus. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."

"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 31, No 46, p 2, Nov. 11, 1875.

The notice of the death of Mrs. Sarah Stillman York, found among our death notices this week, starts in us a train of interesting and tender reflections. Our acquaintance with "Sally" commenced when we were both young, but she in her infancy and early childhood. A little later on we were attendants on the instructions offered in the same school, and still later on we both became members of the same church. A few years after this we were married, and shortly after "Sally" became for a time a member of our own family. She was genial, faithful, and true, and added much to the pleasures of our domestic circle. At this point, our duties necessitated a separation, soon after which she too was married; and from this time to her death her life was a noble one, whether as wife, mother, Christian, or friend. The husband and children of the deceased have our sympathies in the bereavement, and our prayers for the comforting grace of God to rest upon them. - Eld. Nathan Vars Hull, editor.
