Robert Carlton, Passed away peacefully on December 15, 2012. Bob was born September 9, 1935 in Kalamazoo, the son of Thomas Loyd Carlton and Zelna (Simpson) Carlton. He was a U.S. Marine during the Korean Conflict. On April 5, 1957, he married Brenda Lou Bohne, who survives. He was president of Beech Grove Campground in Marcellus. He enjoyed camping for 11 years. Also surviving are four children, Robert (Christine) Carlton, Stephanie Gail Carlton, Thomas Wayne (Kim) Carlton and Steven Todd Carlton; four grandchildren, Travis, Jeremy, Caden and Jessica; three great-grandchildren; Kylie, Bo and Brianna; a sister, Ruth (Bill) Baker; and a brother, William (Linda) Carlton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason, sister, Francis. At his request, cremation has taken place. The family will have a visitation at the Avink Funeral Home Schoolcraft on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 2-5 PM. with a private burial at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by - Avink Cremation Society-Schoolcraft.
