Obituary: "March 10, 1917 - June 21, 2008 - Resident of San Mateo, Lowell Maloney passed away peacefully Saturday, June 21, 2008 in his sleep following a short illness. He was born in Roseglen, North Dakota, the son of William Frank Maloney and Nellie Elizabeth Skibness. He married Phyllis McCoy Foringer in November 1961. Lowell grew up on a farm in North Dakota and served in the Army in Europe in World War II. He worked for Capital Airlines and United Airlines for 34 years, retiring in 1979. He was an avid gardener, woodworker and bowler. Lowell was an active member of the United Retirees Group, The American Fuchsia Society, and AARP. He and Phyllis are long-time members of The First Presbyterian Church of San Mateo. Lowell is survived by his wife and numerous nieces and cousins. Services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church of San Mateo, 194 West 25th Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94403.
