Elizabeth may have died in Pennsylvania or Iowa. The Newbold families of Rev. Joshua and Barzillai Isaiah Newbold who were brothers left Fayette Co., PA in March 1854 and arrived in Iowa April 1854. Some members of the family died shortly after they came to Iowa. The men lost their father Barzillai Newbold, Sr who is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, IA. Barzillai Isaiah lost a granddaughter Alice Newbold who's father was Gov. Joshua K. Newbold in Burlington, IA. So Elizabeth and her husband George Stephens could have made the trip but Elizabeth and her son could have died sometime after the arrival.
