James "Sonny" Brinlee
Funeral services for James "Sonny" Brinlee, 77-year-old Whitesboro resident, were held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Huff Funeral Chapel in Whitesboro. Rev. Gary Carter officiated. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, under the direction of Huff Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at his residence.
The son of the late Audrey Brinlee and Viola Matlock Brinlee, he was born March 15, 1930 in Honey Grove, Texas. He was a peanut farmer and welder.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Smith Brinlee of Whitesboro; 4 sons, and daughters-in-law, Greg and Debbie Brinlee of Pine Forest, Texas, Mark Brinlee of Whitesboro, Michael Evonne Brinlee of Paragould, Arkansas, and Dewayne and Darlene Brinlee of Whitesboro; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Frank Weir of Mead, Oklahoma, and Diane and David Boling of Austin, Texas; 1 sister, Betty Lou Hammer of Whitesboro; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Kathy Colwell of Fort Worth, Texas
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Veta Faye Brinlee on September 8, 1997; 3 sisters and 1 brother, Stephen Brinlee.
Pallbearers were A.J. Brinlee, Stephen Brinlee, Jonathan Brinlee, Peanut Barnhart, Joshua Weir, Chris Brinlee and Jamie Brinlee.
Honorary pallbearers were David Huneycutt and J.C. Westbrook.
Visitation was Friday, June 29, 2007 at the funeral home.
