The Life of Mr. Charles T. Brown. Born on the 30th of May, 1921 in Galveston, Texas, the oldest of three children born to August and Bessie K. Brown.

Mop spent his childhood in Galveston and attended both Ball High School and Kirwin High School (private Catholic School), where he played football as well as baseball. With baseball being his favorite sport, Mop obtained written consent from his parents and began his professional baseball career at the age of 16. His favorite position was catcher, and he enjoyed an active 10 year career, until an injury forced his retirement.

After his retirement from professional sports, Mop became a sales representative for the Falstaff Brewing Company, where his outgoing personally won him many friends through the years.

Mop met Mary Birkmeyer in 1960 and they were married July 17, 1961. They were blessed with a daughter on their sixth wedding anniversary and would move to Santa Fe shortly after her birth. He was a founding father of the LaMarque Little League and was an active member of American Legion Baseball Team in Santa Fe and was a member of the FOE Aerie 3789.

Mop retired from Falstaff in 1975 after 25 years of service and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening. One of his favorite holidays was St. Patrick's Day, and he would even dye his hair and beard green in celebration.

In addition to his wife Mary, Mop is survived by his daughter Suzanne and her husband Charles, his brother Richard [Warren] Brown of Galveston, sister Oliva Johnson of Santa Fe and numerous nieces and nephews.
