Louis Rupff, age 89 years, died Friday, January 18, 2013. He was born to the late Louis and Bertha (Reese) Rupff on September 25, 1923 in Bay City. Louis was the owner of Evenknit Hosiery Inc. and a member of First Presbyterian Church. He served honorably in the U. S. Army during World War II. On August 31, 1972 Louis married the former Virginia A. Burns who preceded him in death on November 6, 2006. Survivors include three children, Ludwig (Jackie) Rupff, Bayne (Klaus) Birckenstaedt, and Kurt Rupff and Rose Steffey; his step-daughter, Kitty Carroll Buchanan; grandchildren: Amy Cianek, Virginia Courtemanche, Kuy Scott, and Rebecca Rupff; and four great-grandchildren: Emma and Harry Cianek, Gabe and Frankie Courtemanche. Louis was also preceded in death by his first wife of 20 years, Elizabeth Ann "Bobsey" Petersen. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dr. Jeffrey D. Weenink will officiate and private interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society .
