Nathaniel Hill was the second child and first son of Ann Elizabeth Boswell and Allen Hill. Nathaniel was born March 06, 1841 in Jackson (ENOCH HILL RECORD, Page 39 recorded birth date 1840, not 1841) County, Virginia (West Virginia). Nathaniel grew to manhood near Rock Castle, Jackson County, West Virginia. Nathaniel served in the union army 7th West Virginia Cavalry, Company D during the Civil War. Nathaniel Hill married Mary Elizabeth Parsons Warner, who was a widower. Mary Elizabeth was born in Jackson Country, Virginia (West Virginia). Nathaniel Hill was a farmer. Allen Hill in 1854 gave Nathaniel Hill 425 acres of land in Jackson Country. Mary Elizabeth and Nathaniel Hill lived on 13 mile creek, Jackson Country, where six children were born to this union. Nathan Hill raised two children of Mary Elizabeth (Warner) Hill, whose husband was deceased, Joanna Warner 1858 and George Bird Warner 1863.
