GULFPORT --- Norris S. Achee Sr., 81, died Monday, June 25, 2001, in Gulfport.
Mr. Achee was born in New Orleans and had lived in Gulfport most of his life. He was a retired electrical contractor and a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport and Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Annie Laurie Bell Achee and Hazel Page Achee; a sister, Shirley Achee Northrop; and two brothers, Lloyd Achee and Bobby Achee.
Survivors include three sons, Norris S. Achee Jr. of Gulfport, Allan J. Achee of Denver and James P. "Pat" Achee of Fairhope, Ala.; three sisters, Ann Neski of Harwinton, Conn., Laura Oehrle of Gonzales, La., and Theresa Gatlin of Long Beach; three brothers, Earl Achee of Gonzales, C.J. Achee of Bridgton, N.J., and Jack Achee of Torrington, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport. Services will be at noon Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport where friends may call one hour before services. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
