Mrs. Frances Caldwell Thomas, age 78, of Shannon, passed away Thursday October 25, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Thomas was born July 5, 1934, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Lloyd C. Caldwell and Berta Summerville Caldwell. She was of the Baptist Faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, William H. "Dub" Thomas, June 27, 1998, brothers, Roy C. Caldwell, and Thomas A. Caldwell.
Survivors include daughters, Susan Phillips, and her husband, Robert, Shannon; Evelyn Godeke and her husband, David, Rome; sisters, Janet Wood, Watkinsville; Betty Barker, Cedartown; Juanita Ely, Jonesboro; Dorothy Pirkle, Rome; brother, Charles Caldwell, Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Shannon Edwards, Sarah Mabry, Danny K. Ely, Jr. William Randall Ely, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday October 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Davis, officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Midway Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday October 27, 2012 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165, at other hours they be contacted at the residence 120 First Street, Shannon, Ga.
