Jack Boatright, age 73, of Harrisburg passed away at 4:17 PM, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

He was born on September 17, 1939, in Harco, IL to the late Lloyd and Elsie (Burlison) Boatright. On January 24, 1962, he married Eva Duke and she survives. Jack was a retired coal miner and worked at SIC in the vehicle maintenance department. He was a member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge, the Shriner's-Ainad Temple, and McKinley Avenue Baptist Church. Jack was a Christian and loved the Lord very much.

Surviving family members include his wife: Eva Boatright of Harrisburg; daughter: Jody (Brian) Fowler of Harrisburg; brother: Jim (Joy) Boatright of Carrier Mills; sister: Lillian Moore of Galatia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Sondra and Bruce Bishop; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Vivian (Clyde) Stevenson, brother-in-law: J.T. Moore, niece: Linda Moore, and special in-laws: David and Thelma Duke.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg. Rev. Don Puckett will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. There will be no visitation and those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the cemetery. The family requests no flowers, and memorial contributions be made to American Lung Association, American Heart Association, Diabetes Foundation or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital Envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
