Jerry D. Hoke, 90, 223 Vine Street, Greenville, died in the Rest Haven Nursing Home, after a serious illness since October, last year. He had been a patient in the nursing home since December, 1976.

Mr Hoke, a retired Darke County farmer in Van Buren Township, moved to Greenville in 1973 from the farm. He was a native of Miami County, born August 15, 1886. He has resided in Darke County since boyhood.

His parents were the late Seth and Catherine (Dohner) Hoke. He was a member of the First United Chruch of Christ, Greenville; the Wayne Trail Grange, and was a former member of the Darke County Farm Bureau.

Surviving are his wife, Tillie (Hill) Hoke, whom he married January, 1953; four sons, Carl R., Tipp City; M. Robert, Dayton, Wayne, Versailles; and Lloyd, West Manchester; three daughters, Mrs. Chalmer (Alice) Bish, Greenville; Mrs. Glenna Harbison, Pacific Palisades, California; and Mrs. Emerson (Janet) Utz, Arcanum; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Keihl, Bradford; two half-brothers, John Hoke, Tavares, Florida, and Ralph Hoke, Fairbanks, Alaska; four half sisters, Miss Elizabeth Hoke and Miss Grace Hoke, both of Dayton, Ohio, Miss Ruby Hoke, Orlando, Florida, and Mrs. Elmo (Ester) Huchison, Blanchester; 22 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His first wife Hazel (Brandon) Hoke, died in July, 1943.

Funeral services will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, Greenville, 10 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Don D. Myers officiating. Internment will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetary.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday until the time of services. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Heart Association or the Greenville Area Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
