Graveside services will be held for Jerry Michael, on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Father Joseph Lourdasamy officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Laird Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on April 20, 1949, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Keith Rusk and Verna Parker Rusk. He grew up in Melrose and graduated from Woden High School.
Jay met his loving wife, Linda Rusk, at the hospital while she was working as a nurse. They were happily married for 50 wonderful years.
One of his favorite pastimes was visiting his loving family and being an adoring Pa to his three grandchildren. He loved spending time going camping and fishing. Jay drove a truck for over 25 years; driving over a million miles.
Jay is survived by his wife, Linda Rusk; son, Charles Rusk and his wife, Melissa; brother, John Rusk; sister, Jane Collins; grandchildren, Dylan Rusk, Ashlee Rusk, Savanna and her husband, Christian Ducotey.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers, Cullen Rusk and Parker Rusk.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
