Commitment services for the ashes of Mrs. Alice Bruner, 89, who died Nov. 5, 1950, in Englewood, N. J., were , held Sunday in Oak Grove cemetery. The Rev. W. W. Marzahn officiated. Robert Wendt of Moline was in charge of : burial. Edna Mumma sang. . Mrs. Bruner was the former Alice Swanson, daughter of Swan and Louise Swanson. She was born in Stockholm, Sweden, Feb. 2, 1861, and came to America when a small child. The family settled in Moline, and she was graduated from Moline high school in 1878. On Dec. 1, 1880, she was married to Newton J. Hubbard of Hillsdale, who died in 1883. On Dec. 25, 1888, she married Dr. J. M. O. Bruner of Port Byron, and they resided here until 1930, when they moved to Brooklyn, N. Y., to make their home with their daughter, Louise Hubbard. In July, 1945, Mrs. Bruner moved with her daughter to Englewood, where she lived until her death. She is survived by her daughter, Louise Hubbard of Englewood, N. J.; a son, Bernard F. Bruner of Los Angeles; two granddaughters, Kathleen and Anne Bruner, and a grandson, Bernard Hone Bruner.
