Sylvia Gertrude Myers, 78, mother of Buchanan County Sheriff H.C. (Sonny) Myers, died Saturday morning at a Kansas medical center, where she had been a patient since Aug. 6, following an automobile accident. She was a resident of Union Star.

Mrs. Myers was born In Putnam county, MO, but had lived In Buchanan and Andrew counties, most of her life. She was a member of the Christian church and a member and past matron of Saxton chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Myers and her husband would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Dec. 22.
