Mrs. Strain Is Dead
Prominent Member of Postal Clerks' Auxiliary, Noted Artist
Mrs. Laura Collins Strain, resident of Topeka 32 years, died at her home, 209 Roosevelt street, Wednesday morning. She was a member of the First Congregational church, an active worker of the W.C.T.U. and the ladies auxiliary of the postal clerks organization. She was an artist of unusual ability and she used a number of her paintings in beautifying the interior of her home.
She is survived by her husband, A.S. Strain; three sons, Camden, Blair and John Strain, Topeka; and three daughters, Mrs. Ollieve James, Pasadena, Calif., Miss Monrovia Strain, Los Angeles, Calif., and Miss Clara Strain, of the home address.
Funeral services will be at the First Congregational church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Fair Lawn addition of Mount Hope cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
