Carolyn Berg Sharp, 58, died Friday at her home.

She was born in Portland, Maine, a daughter of Hilding A. and Olga M. Bothel Berg, and attended schools in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1959, Bates College in 1963 and received her master's in physics from Tufts University in 1965.

For the past five years, she was a computer programmer for the Lawrence Livermore Nuclear Laboratory.

Mrs. Sharp was a member of the Amador Valley Quilting Club.

Surviving are her husband, Richard W. Sharp of Livermore; a son, Richard W. III of Livermore; a daughter, Margaret O. Sharp of Livermore; and a sister, Jacqueline Berg of Cape Elizabeth.

There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery, Cape Elizabeth. Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.
