Nels J. Erickson, "A city fireman for 32 years, died Monday in Midway Hospital. Mr. Erickson was found ill in bed in the fire station at Snelling and Ashland by fellow firemen at 5:30 pm. He was taken to the hospital where he died about 7pm. Appointed to the fire department March 17, 1918, Mr. Erickson was made a driver of Hook and Ladder No. 10. He kept the same job throughout his 32 years of service with the department."
