John F. 'Jack' Ashley, age 69, passed away Monday, September 15, 2008.
He was to the late Raymond and Scharlene Ashley; He was a Joliet area resident most of his life and a United States Marine Corps veteran. Jack retired from Teamsters Union Local #179 in 1996. Member of the American Legion Post #1080. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears fan.
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Judy (nee Fowler) Ashley of Joliet; three children, Deborah Ashley of Plainfield, John (Bernadette) Ashley of Goose Lake, IL and Sue (Mario) Pistilli of Plainfield; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Diane, Justin, T.J., Jaron and Jennifer; one sister, Geraldine Jankowski of Plainfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Norma Lorenz.
Funeral Services for John F. Ashley will be Friday, September 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, Illinois.
