From the Gladwin County Record --- April 8, 1926
Robert Sersaw was born in Ontario in 1852, and passed to the great beyond at Ann Arbor hospital, after undergoing an operation for cancer of the stomach, March 30, at 10:30 p.m., aged 74. He was married to Miss Jane Stearch, and to this union 12 children were born of whom six sons and two daughters survive him with his wife; four sons preceded him in death. He also leaves two brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Sersaw have been residents of Clare county the past 45 years, during which time they have experienced much of the hardships of early pioneer life. Mr.
Sersaw was a hard working man and a good and very kind neighbor, respected by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held on Easter Sunday at the
Allen schoolhouse. Elder George W. Bailey officiated and interment took place in Highland cemetery, Gladwin.
