Lafayette was married to Goldy Ruth Ramy who came to Barton Flat as a teacher. Lafayette died October 21, 1924 and is buried at the Barton Flat Cemetery in Custer County, Idaho.

Deceased was about thirty-five years of age (he was actually 32 years of age at the time of his death). His parents and a number of brothers and sisters at Barton survive him, and to these the sympathy of all is extended. Funeral arrangemets had not been completed today, but it was thought the funeral would be held Thursday and the remains to be taken to Barton for interment.
