Adrian F. "Abe" Bombard, 66, of 208 Narrows Road, Fern Lake, Au Sable Forks, New York, died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, New York. He was the son of Halsey and Elizabeth (Strong) Bombard.

Abe served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion Post 504 in Au Sable Forks and the Elks Club Post 2027 in Keeseville. Abe was employed at the Cold Springs Granite Company as a sawyer for 35 years. He was an avid all around outdoors man and enjoyed the lake that he lived on for many years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Abe married Nancy (Betters) Bombard on May 19, 1962 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Au Sable Forks. He was survived by his loving wife and best friend of 44 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Mary Bombard and Abie Jr. and Karen Bombard, all of Au Sable Forks; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Bill Martin of Schuyler Falls, New York; six grandchildren, Shane and Levi Bombard, Jeremy and Chelsea Bombard and Brittany and Nicole Brown. He is also survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Peg Bombard, Al and Dorla Bombard of Au Sable Forks, Charles and Flossy Bombard of Washington state; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Blanche and Kenneth Plumadore of Au Sable Forks, Linda Singleton of Ohio and Joan Liberty of Keeseville, New York; one aunt and uncle, Charles and Joyce Strong of Tupper Lake, New York; several sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Halsey and Elizabeth.

A funeral mass was held Thursday, September 7, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks. Burial followed in the parish cemetery, with full military honors from the American Legion Post 504.
