Alex Gene Harjo, a resident of Dewar, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 in Henryetta at the age of 58. Alex was born on February 8, 1954 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Jack Harjo and Nancy Gouge Harjo. Alex grew up and attended school in the Hanna Public School System and graduated from Hanna High School in 1972. Following high school, he attended trade school which prepared him for his chosen occupation as a machinist. Alex attended New Life Tabernacle in Dewar and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Tulsa. Alex was married to Janet Rose Bartlett on August 20, 2011 in Dewar, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by both his mother and his father; by three brothers, Daniel Harjo, Woody Harjo, and Lewis Harjo; and by three sisters, Kizzie Harjo, Winey Harjo, and Colene Harjo.
