A Missouri Sheriff involved in many pursuits of the Jesse James gang, at one time he had Frank James in custody. He was a banker before becoming a lawman. He married his wife, Nancy, on Oct 19, 1874, in Gallatin, MO. They were married for 67 years. They came to Los Angeles after World War I and lived the rest of his years at 5548 Sierra Vista, Hollywood.
