Mrs. Anna M. Matthews, 85, wife of David F. Matthews, died Sunday morning at her home in Mt. Pleasant Twp., Gettysburg.

A native of Latimore Twp., Mrs. Matthews was a resident of this county all her life. She and Mr. Matthews were married 67 years ago. She was the former Anna M. Gingell, daughter of the late George and Mary (Myers) Gingell....[See Note]

Surviving in addition to her husband are these children: Ray of Detroit; Joseph of York; Mrs. J.C. Recard of Gettysburg; Lloyd of Bloomfield, N.J.; Mrs. James B. Crafton of Gettysburg; John of Washington D.C.; and James W. of Gettysburg; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister: Mrs. Charles Smith of Gettysburg; and a brother: Daniel Cromer of Reading.

Funeral services held at the Bender Funeral Home, with the Rev. Victor K. Meredith Jr., pastor of the Gettysburg Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in The Pines Cemetery, near New Chester.
