Michele D. Shannon, 57, of Sugarloaf died early Friday morning in the Select Specialty Hospital in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Ludlow, Mass., she was the daughter of Eugene Abair and the late Elaine (Caron) Abair.
A member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Conyngham, Michele earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Keene State College in Keene, N.H., and, prior to retirement, was employed by the Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, William; sons, Daniel, Lexington, Ky.; and Ryan and his wife, Alexis, Richmond, Va.; granddaughter, Cassidy, at home; brother, Russell Abair and his wife, Pam, Springfield, Mass.; and Michele's sister, Kathy Abdow and her husband, John, Ludlow, Mass.; Michele's stepmother, Lorraine Abair, Ludlow, Mass.; and nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from Boyle Funeral Home, 100 S. Wyoming St., Hazleton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Conyngham. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Children's Miracle Network at Geisinger Medical Center, 100 N. Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822.
