Dorothy E. Hartley, 85, formerly of Camano Island, Washington, died Sunday, February 11, 2007, in an Everett Hospital.
She was born September 30, 1921, in New Plymouth, Idaho. Dorothy was living in the Yakima, Washington area when she met and married the love of her life, James L. Hartley. They made their life on Camano Island, where they spent 58 years together.
Dorothy was active in the Methodist Church and its women's groups. She enjoyed swimming, music, dancing, scrabble, crossword puzzle, baseball, friends and was an avid reader in her book club.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Ken Hartley; two daughters, Patti Gaspard and Madeline Boltz; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 58 years, James L.Hartley; and her oldest daughter, Judith G. Manley.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2007, in the Chapel of Gilbertson Funeral Home, with private interment in the Camano Lutheran Cemetery, Camano Island, Washington. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.
