Dea. Abel Samuel Wetmore, b. in Winchester, Nov. 16, 1802; m. Nov. 24, 1829, Lucy Almira, dau. of Miles and Anna (Butterick) Hills, b. in Goshen, Ct., March 18, 1810; had Julia Ana, John Nash, Ellen Eliza, Leroy Whiting, Miles Hills, Samuel Abel, Hubert Porter.
Resides in his native place at the homestead of his great-great-grandfather, Deacon Samuel. His paternal ancestors, for four generations, lived and died on the same place that he has inherited.
He was made a deacon of the First Congregational (orthodox) Church in 1835, which office he held for nearly 20 years. He represented the town of Winchester in the state Legislature in 1848 and 1849.
