The funeral for Esther C. Warehime, 86, was at 2:30 PM, June 18, at Cherokee's First Christian Church with John Bloss officiating. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery directed by Fisher Funeral Home. She died June 15 at Kiowa, Kansas, District Hospital.
She was born October 7, 1902, in Burlington and attended Prairie Center country school. She married John Warehime September 14, 1924. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in his farming operation. They lived in Ingersoll.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Merrymakers Club and active in operating the Cherokee Thrift Shop.
Surviving are are one daughter, Colleen Newlin of Cherokee; two brothers, Dan Ackerman and Ezra Ackerman, both of Burlington; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband October 7, 1974, two brothers and two half brothers.
Memorials may be made to the church or to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division, through the funeral home.
