Raymond Cruse, 87, of Carmi, passed away at 6:26 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. He was born August 9, 1925 in Centertown, Ky., the son of Lawrence and Ethel (Smith) Cruse. He married Edna Elizabeth "Betty" Trapp on July 1, 1950 and she preceded him in death on March 4, 2001.
Raymond was an Army veteran of WWII and an oilfield worker.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Leanna Cruse of Carmi; three grandchildren, Jon Cruse, Steven and Chrissy Smith; four great-grandchildren, Cade Cruse, Blayne Smith, Jace Smith and Easton Fulkerson; and two local nephews, Ronnie (Kim) Cruse and Rick (Lynne) Cruse.
Raymond was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnie and Donald Cruse.
