Found in The State 01 March 2004: WEST COLUMBIA-Services for Harry R. Kelly, 90, of West Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by the Rev. Bob Ferguson, with burial at Celestial Memorial Gardens. Mr. Kelly, widower of Maude Shetley Kelly, died Sunday, February 29, 2004. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Jency B. and Mattie Theo Lewis Kelly. A lifetime area resident. Mr. Kelly was a veteran of the United States Army. He had retired from the VA Medical Center after 26 years of service. He was a member of DAV and AFGE. Mr. Kelly was a fine Christian man who loved the Lord. He attended Truth Baptist Church on Leaphart Road in his later years. Surviving are his sisters, Nellie K. Beck of West Columbia, Mary K. Connell of Columbia; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Kelly was predeceased by brothers and sisters, E. L. "Else" Kelly, Rev. Charles M. "Red" Kelly, Rev. Claude A. "Burl" Kelly, J. B. "Jay" Kelly, Rev. Connie K. Swisher and Betty M. Hawkins.
