James Rourick, 70, Benton Township farmer, died at 3:20 this morning at his farm home, 10 1/2 miles northeast of Atlantic, after suffering a Heart attack.

JAMES ROURICK, BENTON TOWNSHIP FARMER, DIES
James Rourick, 70, Benton Township farmer, died at 8:10 this morning at his farm home, 10 1/2 miles northeast of Atlantic after suffering a heart attack. He was doing chores at the time.

Mr. Rourick was born on the farm August 8, 1897, the son of James and Bridget White Rourick. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Clark of Anita and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by two brothers, William and Albert Rourick; four sisters Alice Rourick, Mrs. Margaret Antrim, Mrs. Julia Griffen and Mrs. Nellie Rourick Thompson. Mrs. Thompson died December 15 at Alameda, California and services were held here December 20.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Roland funeral home.

James Rourick, 70, Benton Township farmer and brother of Mrs. Mary Clark of Anita, died about 8 A. M. Saturday morning at his farm home northwest of Anita.
Mr. Rourick had been seen in the yard doing morning chores and was found shortly after 8 A.M. by a Brayton Trucker who had arrived at the farm to load livestock. An ambulance and doctor was called but was dead when it arrived.
Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Rourick was born on the farm Aug. 8, 1897, the son of James and Bridget White Rourick.
Surviving besides a sister, Mrs. Clark of Anita, are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Albert, and four sisters, Alice Rourick, Mrs. Margaret Antrim, Mrs Julia Griffin and Mrs Nellie Thompson, who died Dec. 15, 1967, with rites held in Atlantic on Dec. 20.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 A.M. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. MSG. Bart Kane officiated. Music was by the church choir and Mrs. Charles Sandhorst was organist.
Casket bears were Dale Rourick, Frank Rourick, Ed Mailander, Rex Rourick, Warren Christensen, and George Landon. Internment was in the Atlantic Catholic Cemetery.
