When Jesse was about 7 years old he had a attack of malaria fever. Shortly after he developed a slight curvature of the spine. This curvature became worse and Jesse was confined to a board to force him to lie on his back. He turned out to be a wonderful guy during his 41 years on this earth. Later he lost complete control of his bladder and had heart trouble but he never complained.
