Edna Harriett "Hattie" Morris, age 78, of Old Fort, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her beloved family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Mrs. Morris was born October 28, 1934 in McDowell County, NC to the late Allen Festus Thomas and Lola Amanda Biddix Thomas. She was a faithful member of Old Fort First Free Will Baptist Church. She was a Christian who loved God. Mrs. Morris retired from Kearfott in Black Mountain after 43 years of devoted service.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, James Eston Morris.

Left behind to cherish Mrs. Morris' memory are one daughter, Elaine Morris of Old Fort, NC; one son, Mike Morris and wife, Sandy of Marion, NC; two sisters, Ellen Allison of Old Fort, NC and Mae Monteith of Cocoa, FL; four beloved grandchildren, Tracey Simmons, Erica Pool, James Morris and Michael Morris; and seven great-grandchildren, Bradley and Randy Price, Kylie Simmons, Ashlyn Pool, Dequan Boyce and Isaac and Jaden Morris.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Old Fort First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Chastain and Rev. Milton Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church
