Higinio Anaya Sr.

Rosary for Higinio Anaya Sr., 79, will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the Steed Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be read at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Chris Partee officiating.

Mr. Anaya, who was born Aug. 15, 1896, in Guadalupe, N.M., had lived in Clovis since 1922. He died Friday morning at an Albuquerque hospital.

A former machinist for the Santa Fe railroad, Mr. Anaya retired in 1962 after 38 years with the company.

Survivors include his widow, Celina, of the home at 922 W. Second; two daughters, Guadalupe Pillarella of Hopinton, Mass., and Antonia Tillotson of Wichita, Kan.; one son, Higinio Jr. of Wichita; two brothers, Luis of Clovis and Jess of Albuquerque; one sister, Lu Duran of Albuquerque, and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary bearers will be Mucio Ysles, Andy Garcia, V. Mondragon, Antonio Apodaca, Manuel Armijo and O.J. Encinta.

Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
