*DISCREPANCY: Despite the fact that most of Nellie's descendants believe her name was Ruby Nell "Nellie" (including me), her granddaughter, Misty Brown, states: "This is my Grandmother. Her youngest daughter Dorothy is my Mother. Granny’s name was not Ruby Nell. It was Nellie. She had no middle name...We love the name Ruby Nell but that was just not her name." I accept that as a primary source. I did let her know of my family member's actual name coming to light once his birth certificate had been digitized! Nobody, even his children, had any idea what his given name had been until then! VERY special thanks to Misty Brown for finding and contributing her birth certificate. This document confirms and proves Nellie's name was NOT Ruby Nell as many believe.
