William was the son of Amos and Katherine Angevine Haller. He was the husband of the former Shirley Snoots, who died in 1986. He was survived by his children W. Dale Haller, Dawn Bradley, Cathie Roelkey and Debbie Noguera, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and siblings Monk Haller and Patsy Barger.
William graduated from Brunswick High School in 1940 and at one time was president of the Alumni Association.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had worked for the B&O Railroad, Feete Funeral Home in Brunswick and as a mechanic for the Corps of Engineers in Berryville, Virginia.
William belonged to Grace Episcopal Church,Brunswick Lodge 191 AF&AM, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1582 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136, all in Brunswick.
At one time, he'd served on the Brunswick Town Council.
