"Beth" was born to George A. Hacking and his wife Francis Harriett Briggs Hacking. She was the only one with a dark completion. While she was a small child, she drank lysol and nearly died, but she survived to marry Dale Duce Woolf on 23 October 1935 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Dale died in 1967.

Three of their children who are now deceased are Clark Hacking Woolf, who died as an infant and is buried beside his parents, Waldo Kent Woolf, and Robert Burke Woolf.
