John Pace, aged 72 years, died yesterday at 1 o'clock at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. A.J. Carson, corner Spradling avenue and Walton road. Death came very suddenly to Mr. Pace, having been in his usual health until stricken yesterday. By trade he was a painter, having retired from active work some time ago. For several years he followed his trade at the Fort Smith Wagon company.

He is survived by two daughters and five sons. The daughters are Mrs. A.J. Carson, Fort Smith, and Mrs. Leola Wells, Gooseneck, Texas. The sons are James, of Okmulgee, Okla.; Will and John of Texas; George and Lester of Fort Smith.

The funeral will be conducted this afternoon at the residence of his daughter, the hour and place of burial to be determined after the arrival of the son in Oklahoma.
