Lorene Elizabeth Rowland, 93, of Glenwood Iowa passed away Monday (April 28, 2008) at her home.
Born September 27, 1914 in Putnam County, Missouri, Lorene was the daughter of Peter Jessie and Essie Mae (Hurley) Richmond. In October of 1931, Lorene was united in Marriage to Frisco Rowland who preceded her in death on November 7, 1985.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Hazel Palmer and Ruthie Winstead; one grandson, Michael Beaty; four brothers and four sisters.
Lorene is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Genevee and Richard Beaty of Greentop, Missouri; one sister, Coleen wayman of Kansas City, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; numerous greatgrandchildren; several great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rowland was raised and received her education in Putnam County, Missouri. She later resided in Greentop, Missouri and was a housewife and homemaker. In 1986 after the death of her husband, Lorene moved to Glenwood, Iowa to make her home.
Lorene will be remembered by her family as being very devoted to them and for the great meals she prepared for them through the years. Lorene was also good a sewing, was great with children, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 10:00am Thursday (May 1, 2008) at Lone Pine Cemetery, north of Martinstown, Missouri, with Rev. Don Rowland presiding.
Casket beareres will be Bill Collis, Robert Beaty, Mark Winsteadm Shawn Gordon, Beau Curtis and Terry Flanagan.
