Mrs. Shealy Dies; Funeral This Afternoon
Mrs. Cummings Stoudemire Shealy, 94, of 831 Denny Road, died at her home early yesterday morning after an extended illness.
She was born at Peak and was a charter member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Columbia.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. A. H. Ariail; one son, H. Clint Shealy; seven granddaughters, Mrs. Margaret Scott, Mrs. Ray Mooneyham, Mrs. B. E. Hadley, Mrs. Elsie Looney, all of Columbia; Mrs. Dorothy Burr, Oil City, Pa.; Mrs. Joe Lemon, Winnsboro; Mrs. Betty Hentz, Newberry; Mrs. Jake Bickley, Irmo; five grandsons, Troy Wise of Orangeburg; W. J. Shealy of Columbia; Jack Tindall, U. S. Army in Korea; Herman Ariail of Atlanta, W. H. Ariail of Parr; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Riverside Baptist Church at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. George K. Walker will officiate with the Rev. J. M. Mason and Maj. Amel Shultz, assisting. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Six grandsons will serve as active pallbearers; W. J. Shealy, J. H. Lemmon, B. E. Hadley, J. R. Moneyham, W. S. Hentz and W. H. Ariail.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. T. H. Hopkins, Dr. Bothwell Graham III, Dr. Tucker Weston, R. S. Stuck, H. D. Shealy, H. E. Shealy, B. D. Corley, W. H. Scheffler, M. F. Eargle, L. M. Chapman, E. C. Eargle, Bill Heron, George Byrd and Henry Hentz.
Pallbearers will meet at the Pascal-Regal Funeral Home at 3:30 this afternoon.
The family will be at the residence, 831 Denny Rd.
