Death at Harborcreek
Mrs. Mary Bard, widow of the late Israel Bard, a veteran of the late war, died at Harborcreek last Wednesday. Mrs. Bard had been ailing for many years and on the afternoon of August 10th she passed peacefully to the beyond. She leaves five children, three boys and two girls--Clara Ann (Mrs Jessie Kinsinger) , in Harborcreek ( at whose house she died); Adaline Jane (Mrs Abram Miller), of West Millcreek; John H., of Fairview. and Daniel and George of Erie. Mrs. Bard was a sister of our townsmen, Eli and D.C. Kendig. The interment was at Fairview cemetery Friday afternoon. Mrs Bard was married May 29, 1866, to Israel Bard, of Lancaster, Pa., and six children blessed their happy union--three girls and three boys--all prosperous citizens of Erie county.
A daughter Sarah Elizabeth preceded her in death.
Correction and additions added by Donna Kalberer: Israel and Mary were united in marriage, May 29, 1856. Daughter Sarah died in 1866.
